I’m not actually in Nursing school yet. I’m taking my prerequisite courses. For me to get into Nursing school, they require a strong score of pre-algebra. That is a big difference than calculus. In my statement above, all of those ladies whom I consulted all said no way you need calculus.

For my program, I have to take, Intro to Psychology, Developmental psychology, Anatomy and Physiology, English comp 1 and 2, Nutrition, History, Government, intro to clinical microbiology.

@cutestkittyface I agree, and that it is why I speak fluent spanish ;) But I agree anyone who isn’t bilingual should take a second language.

@twindwick Ya’ll aren’t too stupid! Listen, if your school has medical classes, like Med. Microbiology or Med. Terminology, then take them. they helped me alot

@salebowwow oh wow. Can you tell me any tips? I really want to be an RN. if your telling me shes lying, then im kinda sad b/c no one in my family is in the medical field…. any tips?…please?

  • cutestkittyface said:

@Sakura71390 I Think that if your bilingual, your more likely to get chosen. I’m not saying you have to but think about it. A family only speaks spanish and their child was in a car accident. They want to know whats happening. It would be easier for them to understand what was happening if you spoke their language. Plus imagine if you went to Spain. Wouldn’t you feel less queasy if their was someone who could understand and converse with you? but i do think your right bout the calculus thing…

@dizzitoast: Are you suggesting that Native Americans devised the English language?

  • dizzitoast said:

I used to think that way too, but unless you’re Native American, I’m pretty certain somewhere up the line Yyou’re relatives couldn’t speak english also!

  • Amnesia512 said:

  • pypox said:

    that shit is hard

  • bluecoatguy03 said:

Small schools and community colleges do not offer “entrance exams”. As long you have a pulse you’ll get into that school. Focus on your prereq’s and you’ll get in. Screw the baccalaureate, as long as you have the two most important letters, RN, its all gravy.

I would rather have someone be expressive by using hand gestures than having someone who is boring and speaks in a monotone voice. Give her a break!!!

  • amnesiak1982 said:

I am so dizzy right now from following her hand movements

The U.S. system in Nursing is such a scam and a rip off. I am a RN and I got my RN in germany. And by way, college in germany up ph.d is free of charge. Free education.you dont even pay for your books, you basically rent them for free and return em after each semester.
Renewing your RN license etc..is another rip off just get your money….
I am an RN now here in the US and I am i guess the ONLY Nurse thats not in debt with student loans. This actually sad!

I wish I was a nurse. They bring home the bacon, and I like me some bacon. Maybe I should try a CNA program to start.

@twostep2009 You’re very welcome :) No prospective nursing students should ever feel discouraged, its hard but many many people do it and succeed. Nothing good in life comes easy, and its such a rewarding career.
